This is my Grandma Tomiko. She raised me for 14 years and let me tell you, she’s the best to learn from. I’m rest assured that God gifted her with a heart of gold. She taught me to be kind, how to respect, how a woman should love, and how to be a true lady. Now on the other hand, she taught me how to read and write in Japanese when I was 4, made me wear Kimono’s, and taught me how to use chopsticks before any other utensils at the dinner table lol, she wasn’t playin! She wanted me to live the lifestyle of knowing both my cultures and I respected that. I remember after my grandpa died, she would tell me stories about how he used to sing some Lion and bear song to me with his acoustic when I was little, just to get me to sleep. And til this day, she still reminds me of my grandpa and his warm heart. When I see her, I think of him and … I’m numb.

*Sigh, I really do miss my grandparents. I think about them everyday. Well, I think about all my family, actually. #FamilyFirst.
